Dan Rougeau is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, lap steel, vocals) with a rich touring and recording background, highlighted by performances on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series, New York City's infamous Carnegie Hall, and many of North America's popular music festivals and clubs. The ex-Toronto now Montreal based Rougeau has performed and recorded with some of Canada's brightest talents, including Emily Rockarts, Kaia Kater, Maya Malkin, Gillian Nicola, May Have, Tennyson King, Flara K, Boat Maker, and many more. While always busy working as a sideman, his output as a composer and bandleader is notable as well, having led his project Midcoast since 2013, with a new record, Beta, released in the fall of 2019.
